The problem that brought us to UPSHIFT: the lack of interesting interactive safety training for young people.
The solution found at UPSHIFT: The team created an interactive program called "TotalSafety". It combines mine safety, fire safety, first aid, and road safety training for secondary school students, who enthusiastically participate in the activities. The team combines lectures from experienced SES employees with interactive games and VR simulations to provide participants with not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills.
The team's project is an example of an innovative method of teaching relevant safety skills to young people. The team collaborated with experts from the local SES branch, who provided educational materials and external expert support, which made the project more resourceful.
The upshifters were also invited with a presentation by "TotalBezpeka" to the opening of the youth center "Youth Point", which the NGO "Needed Here" created in Voznesensk with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and to the activity in the center for the International Day of Mine Awareness.
In the future, "Mad Geniuses" plan to expand the team, improve teaching methods and internal content of the program. Having gained experience in the fields of informal education and security, the participants are open to cooperation and are ready to share their own experience.
